Ingredients
● Toor dal (or masoor): 1 cup (200 g)
● Water: 3 cups (720 ml)
● Turmeric: ½ tsp
● Salt: 1½ tsp
● Tadka:
○ Ghee: 2 tbsp
○ Cumin seeds: 1 tsp
○ Garlic (sliced): 6 cloves
○ Dried red chilies (optional): 2
○ Hing (optional): pinch
● Red chili powder: 1 tsp
● Garam masala: pinch
● Zaff Aroma Powder: ¼ tsp
Method
- Boil dal with turmeric until soft. Add salt.
- Make tadka in ghee with cumin + garlic (+ chilies/hing).
- Pour tadka into dal; simmer 3–5 min.
- Add Zaff powder at the end.
